Smarter Comments for Faster Collaboration

We’ve rolled out a major upgrade to the Comments feature to make collaboration and task tracking even easier.

Add Comments to Multiple Items

You can now select multiple items and add a single comment that will appear on all selected items. This helps save time and ensures consistent communication across related work.

Assign Comments with Due Dates

Comments now support assigning a person and adding a due date — turning them into actionable tasks.

 Smarter Comment Tabs

  • If you’re assigned to a comment, it will automatically appear in your “Assigned to Me” tab.
  • The original commenter will see it in their “Awaiting Reply” tab — so nothing gets lost.

Controlled Resolution for Accuracy

Only the assigned user and the original commenter can mark a comment as resolved.
This ensures better tracking, accountability, and accuracy for completed tasks.

Use Cases for the New Comments Feature

1. Coordinating Vendor Feedback

When reviewing multiple items from the same vendor, select all related products and leave one comment for all of them. This keeps communication consistent and saves you from having to repeat yourself for each product line.

Example:
"Please confirm fabric availability before production — applies to all three chair models in this order."

2. Assigning Installation Tasks

Turn comments into tasks by assigning them to specific team members with a due date. This ensures accountability and helps everyone stay on track.

Example:
"@John — Please inspect and approve the delivered cabinets by Aug 25."

3. Tracking Issue Resolution

With “Assigned to Me” and “Awaiting Reply” tabs, everyone knows exactly where action is needed — and only the assignee or original commenter can close the loop. This keeps task completion accurate and transparent.

Example:
"@Maria — Return the damaged light fixtures and confirm replacements by end of week."

4. Cross-Team Collaboration

Comments can now serve as the bridge between design, procurement, and project management teams, ensuring that feedback and updates are linked directly to the right items.

Example:
"@Procurement — Please confirm PO status for these five items before client walkthrough."
