year ICFF had not only a great number of fresh and elegant designs, but also plenty objects made from some creative materials. Such approach is a significant trend in modern interior design, since it allows giving well-known classic objects a totally new look. See, how creative materials were used at ICFF 2016 inside.

1. Lyon Beton

French brand, Lyon Beton, takes concrete furniture to a whole new level by creating fashionable and surprisingly comfortable modern furniture with an emphasis towards durability. Despite the material stereotypes, Lyon Beton’s furniture is exceptionally lightweight thanks to a patented reinforcement of woven wire mesh and fiber, which also further increases the longevity of the piece.

Have you ever thought about how much a faucet design can impact the feel of a bathroom? The Tapologie company sure does…creating original statement fixtures that everyone will notice.  Utilizing skilled glass blowers to create the handmade glass fixtures, the company’s products look stunning and give a unique vibe to the whole room.

3. Luke Lamp Co

Luke Lamp Co. is a design studio that creates impressive lamps and other assorted light fixtures from LED backlight woven nylon tube. There is an endless amount of variation provided by the flexibility of the lighting element allowing one to transform with little to no effort.   Proven in its use by many restarurants and hotels, these fixtures would fit quite well in both an industrial or loft type space.

4. Elissa Opfer

Elissa Opfer is a design student at University of Iowa. She only makes her first steps in furniture design, but they already look very elegant. Above you can see 3D printed shaker for pepper made from grey nylon plastic with a subtle metallic sparkle. Its design looks minimalistic and resembles a tusk of a mammoth. Such accessory would help you to add a final touch to any kitchen or restaurant.

5. Toto

Toto is Japan’s leading plumbing brand, producing some of the highest quality functional designs to the marketplace. Their new collection called, Luminist, showcases their new patented translucent material of the same name paired with integrated LED lighting. Belonging to the same group of epoxy resins used in the aerospace industry, Luminist provides the same durability and sanitary benefits of traditional porcelain lavatories. It’s transparency however is what truly sets it apart from anything else out on the market now.

6. Shore Rugs

Shore Rugs offers the most innovative floor covering solution we’ve seen this year at ICFF with the release of silicone foam area rugs.   Their deep woven cord structure has a leather-like surface treatment that also provides a massage-like experience when standing on.  Fully waterproof, UV resistant, non-slip and and an assortment of designs and variations, it’s hard not to say no.

7. Aluzejos

Aluzejos lamps designed by Dome Milano Interior really add some playfulness and polish to a room with their patterned shades.  Light but durable, the ceramic tile or wallpaper effect can “work” solo or help compliment a wallcovering. Also producing pendants and other sconces of the same variety, countless furnishing solutions exist.

8. DXV American Standard

With the use of 3D printing technology, American Standard’s DXV line creates some of the most unique and elegant faucets. Clever design paired with masterful functionality make these faucets appear look both sophisticated and luxurious.
