As AEC professionals, we are often focused on answering the “how” and “what” of things. How do you best execute a certain process? How do you acquire more savings opportunities? The “why” is the whole purpose of a project. This answers questions like: How will your project benefit a cause? Will it satisfy the desired business outcome that your client is aiming for? In other words, it is the backbone of the project and the guidepost to how a project will be executed.
And yet, we always tend to forget the answer to our “why”. That’s because half the time, we are too busy trying to solve the problems that are right in front of us – problems like time wasted on rework and repetitive tasks.
